The World Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative. It is run under the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March. The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures, and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year.

Sandwich Making for Bread & Beyond

Summerlea will deliver the sandwiches to Ricochet Shelter as well as to the Dorval warming shelter to be distributed to the homeless in the West Island. 

Anyone interested in getting involved should leave their name with Colleen at the church office.

We welcome all to this special Scouts and Guides service to celebrate the life of the Founder of Scouts, Lord Baden Powell.

Today the scouting and guiding movements include Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers and Sparks, Embers, Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers.

Sandwich Making for Bread & Beyond 

There is an initiative spear-headed by Bread & Beyond in NDG to make sandwiches to be distributed to the homeless in Montreal. There are some smaller operations doing this same work, as at Cedar Park United. Several members from Summerlea have been to both organizations to see how they function.  Outreach would like to start this initiative on Wednesday, October 22^nd at 9:45am at Summerlea to make sandwiches to be distributed to the homeless in the West Island.  We are hoping to have a goal of making sandwiches once a month.  Anyone interested in getting involved should leave their name with Colleen at the church office.
